I am beginning my 3rd full year as superintendent of White County Central Schools. I was born in West Virginia and after graduating from Harding University in 1981 began my teaching/coaching career here at WCC. After teaching at WCC for 6 years, we moved to West Virginia and I coached basketball at Ohio Valley College for 2 years. I then returned to WCC as teacher/coach for 5 years before becoming the high school principal at McRae. I then returned to WCC as middle school principal for 10 years before going to become the superintendent at Midland for 6 years. I am very excited with the opportunity to return to WCC to finish my educational career. My wife, Debbie retired from the district after 33 years in education. We have 2 children that are WCC alumni. Ben is married to Tosha and they have 3 children. McKenly that is entering 9th grade, Harper that is entering Kindergarten and Cali Claire that is 9 months old. Allison is married to Baron and they also have 3 children. Emerson is entering 6th grade, Baron is entering Kindergarten, and Sloan is a month old. Allison works as a mental health therapist for the Pointe and is actually based on our campus at WCC.
Our theme for the year is Raising the Bar and we are looking forward to using this theme to push our students out of their comfort zones causing them to stretch and grow both academically and socially!
We recently adopted a mission statement of: White County Central is passionate about Challenging students academically and socially to Create productive, caring citizens! We are so excited about the opportunity to help our students grow in all aspects of their lives as they join with the greatest staff and faculty around to help prepare them for their future lives. We are committed to exposing our students to the most cutting edge technology that will help prepare them for the global economy and for careers that might not even yet exist. We truly believe that WCC is a "HIDDEN GEM" in the rural part of White County.
